What does the curator team of the The Cleveland Museum of Art write about this 17th century artwork created by circle of Le Nain? (© - site na Cleveland Museum of Art - www.clevelandart.org)

This scene of outdoor, rustic frivolity was probably painted by the Master of the Béguins, a Flemish imitator of the Le Nain brothers who capitalized on their success around the 1650s in Paris. Distinct features of this artist's style are the wide eyes, pudgy cheeks, and white peasant caps-béguins-that give the artist his name. The sturdy and comical peasants, clothed in coarse fabrics with heavy folds, and the use of earthen tones emphasize the provincial mood. During the mid-17th century, the treatment of the poor and lower classes was a subject of great debate in the Catholic Church in Paris, especially at Saint Sulpice, where the Le Nain brothers were buried. Scenes of everyday workers or peasants were incredibly popular, drawing on both comic, Flemish genre scenes of drinking and the French interest in carefully observed, realistic details. Although the picture's meaning remains ambiguous, the gaiety of this world comes from the wonderfully naturalistic details, such as the worn hole on the piper's elbow, the villagers' cheerful expressions, and still-life details such as the ripe apples and reflective drinking vessel. --Hannah Segrave (October 2013)

  • Mbipụta kwaaji: The printed canvas applied on a wooden stretcher frame. A canvas of your favorite artpiece will provide you with the chance to transform your art print into a large work of art. Canvas prints are relatively low in weight. This means, it is easy and straightforward to hang up the Canvas print without the support of additional wall-mounts. Therefore, a canvas print is suited for any type of wall.
  • Mbipụta enyo acrylic: The print on acrylic glass, which is often referred to as a plexiglass print, transforms your favorite original artwork into amazing décor. Our plexiglass with real glass coating protects your chosen art replica against sunlight and external influences for many more years.
  • Mbipụta akwụkwọ mmado (akwa akwa akwa): The Artprinta poster is a UV printed sheet of canvas with a slightly roughened finish on the surface. Please bear in mind, that depending on the size of the poster we add a white margin of around 2-6cm around the print to facilitate the framing.
  • Metal (aluminium debond mbipụta): This is a metal print manufactured on aluminium dibond material with a true depth. A non-reflective surface structure creates a modern look. The Direct Print on Aluminum Dibond is your excellent start to fine art replicas made on aluminum. For the Print On Aluminum Dibond, we print the artwork on the aluminium composite white-primed surface. The bright and white parts of the original artwork shine with a silk gloss but without the glare.

Ederede iwu: We try all that we can to describe the products in as much detail as possible and to illustrate them visually in our shop. Nevertheless, the tone of the printed materials and the printing might differ marginally from the image on the device's monitor. Depending on your screen settings and the condition of the surface, color pigments can unfortunately not be printed as realisitcally as the digital version on this website. Bearing in mind that all our are processed and printed by hand, there might as well be slight discrepancies in the size and exact position of the motif.
