"Landscape with reptiles and insects (I)" is a painting painted by the baroque German artist Johann Adalbert Angermayer in 1740. This painting and its counterpart (Inv 1454) provide an interface between lifes and landscape painting and are characteristic of the last decade of life of Johann Adalbert Angermayer. Among the highly accurate reproduced animals are among others a fence lizard, grass snake and various butterflies - Scarce Swallowtail, Small Tortoiseshell, cabbage white, Bluebird and pine moth - to recognize.
