The composition sketch covers the whole stage wall, it is to the location and importance of the middle frame - Bacchus and Ariadne - determine. Makart stuck to the pattern of the previous draft of the curtain for the Municipal Theater (see. Frodl, Makart, 2013, cat. No. 213 and 214).
