Charles Boucher d'Orsay, provost from 1700 to 1708. The model assumes a red coat and black members of the Paris municipality. An allegorical figure appears behind his chair.

Charles Boucher Portrait d'Orsay, provost is a fragment of collective portrait of the City's Office that included, at his side, the four aldermen Santeul, Guillebon, Boutet and Desnotz, the Public Prosecutor, the Registrar and the recipient, accompanied by Justice and Abundance. In the background included a tapestry depicting the arrival of the Duke of Anjou to the Spanish crown with allegories appropriate to the subject. This portrait is falsely identified as that of Mr. Chateauneuf in some old catalogs and inventories.
