The English-born Philadelphian Thomas Sully painted this self-portrait for his host in Baltimore, Maryland, the broker Henry Robinson. The artist is shown interrupted at his work, with the primary tool of his profession pointed at his sharply lit head. This paintbrush device is common in artists’ self-portraits, and Sully is thought to have adapted it from a similar work by Benjamin West, with whom he had studied in London. Although Sully’s brushwork is unusually restrained here, its painterly quickness blends with the engaging spontaneity of the pose to create a sense of immediacy.

- Poster (akwa akwa akwa): A poster print is a UV printed flat canvas with a nice surface finish, that reminds the actual masterpiece. It is suited for putting your fine art print in a custom-made frame. Please note, that depending on the size of the canvas poster print we add a white margin of approximately 2-6cm around the print to facilitate the framing with your custom frame.
- Mbipụta kanvas: A printed canvas, not to be mistaken with a painting on a canvas, is a digital copy printed from a UV direct printing machine. A canvas makes a unique impression of three-dimensionality. Canvas prints are relatively low in weight, which means that it is quite simple to hang the Canvas print without any wall-mounts. A canvas print is suitable for any type of wall.
- Aluminom dibond (ọkpụkpụ ọla): These are metal prints on aluminium dibond with an outstanding depth effect. For our Aluminium Dibond option, we print your chosen work of art right onto the surface of the white-primed aluminum.
- Glass acrylic e biri ebi (nwere ezigbo mkpuchi iko): The print on acrylic glass, often named a print on plexiglass, changes the original artwork into brilliant décor. Your own replica of the work of art is being printed thanks to the help of state-of-the-art UV direct printing machines. This makes deep, intense color hues. The acrylic glass protects your custom fine art print against light and external influences for between 40-60 years.
