This portrait of President Washington, called the Gibbs-Channing-Avery portrait, is one of eighteen similar works known as the Vaughan group. The first of this type, presumably painted from life and then copied in all the others, originally belonged to Samuel Vaughan, a London merchant living in Philadelphia and a close friend of Washington. This original portrait by Stuart, painted in 1795 according to Rembrandt Peale, was subsequently acquired by Joseph Harrison of Philadelphia. While in Harrison's collection, Rembrandt Peale copied it many times. The version now in the Metropolitan Museum of Art, considered to be one of the earliest and best replicas, was sold to Stuart's close friend, Colonel George Gibbs, and subsequently descended in the Gibbs family.

  • Mbipụta kwaaji: The canvas print, not to be mistaken with an artwork painted on a canvas, is a digital copy applied directly on cotton canvas. Your canvas of your favorite artwork will provide you with the unique opportunity to transform your individual into a large collection piece as you would see in a gallery. A canvas print has the advantage of being relatively low in weight, which means that it is easy to hang the Canvas print without the use of additional wall-mounts. Canvas prints are suitable for all kinds of walls.
  • Poster (akwa akwa akwa): A poster print is a printed flat canvas paper with a slightly roughened surface finish, which reminds the original work of art. It is perfectly appropriate for putting your fine art print with a custom frame. Please note, that depending on the size of the poster we add a white margin of around 2-6cm around the painting in order to facilitate the framing with a custom frame.
  • Mbipụta iko acrylic (nke nwere ezigbo mkpuchi iko): A glossy acrylic glass print, often labelled as a print on plexiglass, will convert the artwork into beautiful décor. The artwork is being made thanks to state-of-the-art UV direct printing machines. With a glossy acrylic glass art print contrasts and granular details become more recognizeable due to the precise tonal gradation.
  • Metal (aluminium debond mbipụta): This is a metal print manufactured on aluminium dibond material with an impressive depth. The non-reflective surface structure make a contemporary impression. For the Direct Aluminium Dibond print, we print your artpiece on the aluminium composite surface. The white & bright sections of the original artwork shine with a silk gloss but without the glare. The colors of the print are luminous in the highest definition, the fine details of the print are clear and crisp, and you can feel the matte appearance of the fine art print.
