During his stay in Arles, a small town in the rural south of France, Van Gogh concentrated on painting the town's inhabitants--including the local mailman (Room 2) and the farm workers whose simple lifestyle he admired and idealized. Here, Van Gogh depicts a peasant smoking a pipe. The figure wears a humble coat comprised of loose, muddy strokes; ruddy cheeks suggest his work outdoors. Above his shoulder, a few horizontal dashes indicate puffs of smoke; thick, unblended marks describe an ear. Despite these moments of near abstraction, Van Gogh maintains an astounding attention to naturalistic detail, paying attention to the way a person really looks and behaves. Note how the man's mouth is slightly clenched to hold the pipe; and how his moustache is uneven rather than perfectly trimmed.

In the dropdown selection right next to the product offering you can pick the material and size of your choice. The following sizes and materials are the options we offer you for individualization:

  • Mbipụta kanvas: The canvas direct print is a printed canvas mounted on a wooden stretcher. The canvas print creates a cosy, pleasing impression. How do I hang a canvas on the wall? The great advantage of canvas prints is that they are relatively low in weight. That means, it is quite simple to hang your Canvas print without additional wall-mounts. Hence, a canvas print is suited for all types of walls.
  • Mbipụta enyo acrylic: The acrylic glass print, often referred to as a plexiglass print, makes your favorite artwork into home decoration and forms a good alternative to aluminium and canvas fine art prints. Your own replica of the work of art will be printed thanks to the help of state-of-the-art UV printing machines. This creates impressive and rich colors.
  • Mbipụta akwụkwọ mmado (akwa akwa akwa): The poster is a printed cotton canvas paper with a nice finish on the surface. It is used for placing the fine art print in a custom frame. Please bear in mind, that depending on the absolute size of the canvas poster print we add a white margin between 2-6 cm around the print motif, which facilitates the framing with your custom frame.
  • Mbipụta nke aluminom: Aluminium Dibond prints are prints on metal with an impressive effect of depth. A non-reflective surface creates a contemporary impression. For the Aluminium Dibond option, we print your selected work of art on the surface of the aluminum material. The bright & white parts of the artpiece shine with a silk gloss but without the glare. Colors are luminous, details appear clear and crisp.
