This work, first shown at the National Academy of Design’s annual exhibition in New York City in 1853, depicts a scene near the town of Olive, New York, where Durand spent the summers of 1853 and 1855. During those months, he repeated sketches he had made of a nearby mountain, High Point (also known as Ashokan High Point), on an earlier visit to the region in 1847. In this painting, in contrast to his large “historical landscapes,” the artist focused on depicting light and shade in the type of bucolic setting popular with an increasingly urban American public—represented here by the couple fishing on the bank of the stream, enjoying the bounty of nature.

  • Mpempe akwụkwọ ederede (akwa akwa akwa): A poster is a printed sheet of canvas with a granular finish on the surface. It is qualified for framing the fine art print in a custom frame. Please keep in mind, that depending on the size of the poster we add a white margin of approximately 2-6cm around the artwork to facilitate the framing.
  • Aluminom dibond (ọkpụkpụ ọla): An Aluminium Dibond print is a print material with an outstanding effect of depth. The non-reflective surface structure make a contemporary impression. For our Aluminium Dibond option, we print the favorite artpiece on the aluminium white-primed surface.
  • Mbipụta iko acrylic (nke nwere ezigbo mkpuchi iko): The acrylic glass print, often denoted as a fine art print on plexiglass, changes the artwork into magnificient home décor. In addition to that, it forms a great alternative to aluminium and canvas fine art replicas. Your own version of the work of art is being manufactured with the help of modern UV direct print technology. This makes deep and vivid colors. Our real glass coating protects your selected fine art print against sunlight and external influences for between 4 and six decades.
  • Mbipụta kwaaji: The canvas print, which shall not be confused with a canvas painting, is a digital replica printed on a UV direct printer. A canvas generates a unique impression of three-dimensionality. Further, a printed canvas produces a charming and enjoyable impression. A canvas print has the advantage of being relatively low in weight, which implies that it is easy to hang your Canvas print without the support of additional wall-mounts. A canvas print is suitable for all kinds of walls.

At the same time, the tone of the print products, as well as the imprint can differ marginally from the presentation on the screen. Depending on your settings of your screen and the nature of the surface, color pigments may not be printed as exactly as the digital version on this website.
